OpenFile with Codex

Connect Codex to the OpenFile MCP server and it can check names, price filings and prepare them. It needs no key or account.

Connect

Add this to ~/.codex/config.toml:

Try it

Ask Codex something like:

• "Form a Wyoming LLC for my candle business."
• "Is QUILLBROOK likely to be refused as a trademark for candles?"
• "What would it cost to file a trademark in two classes?"
• "Where is my order?"

Codex calls plan_task first, so it asks the person what it needs instead of guessing.

What you still do yourself

Codex prepares the draft and sends the owner a link. They open it, check every answer and sign. An agent can't sign for them, and it never handles a Social Security number. Why the owner signs.

Check it worked

Ask Codex to list its OpenFile tools. You should see plan_task, create_formation and search_docs.
