OpenFile with Claude Code

Connect Claude Code to the OpenFile MCP server and it can check names, price filings and prepare them. It needs no key or account.

Connect

Run this once:

claude mcp add --transport http openfile https://mcp.joinopenfile.com

To add the skill as well, which teaches Claude Code the flow before it connects:

Try it

Ask Claude Code something like:

• "Form a Wyoming LLC for my candle business."
• "Is QUILLBROOK likely to be refused as a trademark for candles?"
• "What would it cost to file a trademark in two classes?"
• "Where is my order?"

Claude Code calls plan_task first, so it asks the person what it needs instead of guessing.

What you still do yourself

Claude Code prepares the draft and sends the owner a link. They open it, check every answer and sign. An agent can't sign for them, and it never handles a Social Security number. Why the owner signs.

Check it worked

Ask Claude Code to list its OpenFile tools. You should see plan_task, create_formation and search_docs.
