Moving a mark to a new owner, like your new LLC or a buyer.

When it's due

Any time after filing. Record it within 3 months of the transfer to keep priority against later buyers.

What it is

We prepare the assignment document for both sides to sign and the cover sheet for the USPTO's Assignment Center.

If the mark is being sold together with a business, the assignment should include the goodwill. Our document does; edits to that clause are a question for an attorney.
