# Get a state

`GET /api/v1/states/{code}`

A state's filing fees, annual report, accepted company name endings and publication rules.

In the MCP server this is `get_state`.

## Parameters

| Name | Type | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `code` | string | Yes | Two-letter state code, like `WY`. |

## Errors

| Status | When |
| --- | --- |
| `404` | Not found, or the token is wrong. |
