# OpenFile with Bolt

Connect Bolt to the OpenFile [MCP server](https://joinopenfile.com/docs/mcp.md) and it can check names, price filings and prepare them. It needs no key or account.

## Connect

Press the plus icon in the chat, then **Connectors**, **Manage connectors** and **Custom MCP server**, and fill it in:

- **Name**: OpenFile
- **URL**: `https://mcp.joinopenfile.com`
- **Transport type**: HTTP
- **Authentication**: None

Then press **Connect**.

## Try it

Ask Bolt something like:

- "Form a Wyoming LLC for my candle business."
- "Is QUILLBROOK likely to be refused as a trademark for candles?"
- "What would it cost to file a trademark in two classes?"
- "Where is my order?"

Bolt calls `plan_task` first, so it asks the person what it needs instead of guessing.

## What you still do yourself

Bolt prepares the draft and sends the owner a link. They open it, check every answer and sign. An agent can't sign for them, and it never handles a Social Security number. [Why the owner signs](https://joinopenfile.com/docs/mcp.md#how-an-agent-files).

## Check it worked

Ask Bolt to list its OpenFile tools. You should see `plan_task`, `create_formation` and `search_docs`.
